Swimming, surfing, hiking, getting tanned on the beach or on the terrace of your holiday home… But sometimes you want to do something a little bit more exotic during your holidays. We have collected some of the newest events and attractions to satisfy your appetite for adventure!

2. Summer is perfect… for cultural performances (next to or) on the beach
When summer comes, festival season arrives as well. The Canary Islands host some exciting events during this time of the year. The concerts may even take place on the beach! That is the case regarding the Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival that will take place on the beach Playa de San Agustin on 26-28 July 2019, honoring the great soul legend Aretha Franklin. Another great event that will grace Maspalomas this summer is “Totem” by Cirque du Soleil, featuring 48 performers of 18 nationalities in a spectacular show revolving around the evolution theory as developed by Darwin. Another island that gets into party mode this summer is La Palma. The Isla Bonita Love Festival takes place on 17-20 July 2019 and celebrates love and diversity with various expositions, talks and a huge concert in the seaside town of Tazacorte on 20 July.
Wenn der Sommer kommt, ist auch die Festivalsaison da. Auf den Kanarischen Inseln finden zu dieser Jahreszeit einige aufregende Veranstaltungen statt. Die Konzerte können sogar am Strand stattfinden! Das gilt für das Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival, das vom 26. bis 28. Juli 2019 am Strand Playa de San Agustin zu Ehren der großen Soullegende Aretha Franklin stattfindet. Ein weiteres Ereignis, das in Maspalomas in diesem Sommer stattfinden wird, ist “Totem” vom Cirque du Soleil, eine spektakulären Show mit 48 Interpreten aus 18 Ländern, die sich um die von Darwin entwickelte Evolutionstheorie dreht. Auch La Palma schmeißt diesen Sommer den Party-Modus an. Das Isla Bonita Love Festival findet am 17. und 20. Juli 2019 statt und feiert Liebe und Vielfalt mit verschiedenen Ausstellungen, Gesprächen und einem großen Konzert in der Küstenstadt Tazacorte am 20. Juli.

Ese es el caso del Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival que tiene lugar en la playa Playa de San Agustín del 26 al 28 de julio de 2019, en honor a la leyenda del soul Aretha Franklin. Otro gran evento que tendrá lugar en Maspalomas este verano es “Totem” del Cirque du Soleil, con 48 artistas de 18 nacionalidades en un espectáculo que gira en torno a la teoría de la evolución desarrollada por Darwin. Otra isla que entra en modo de fiesta este verano es La Palma. El Isla Bonita Love Festival del 17 al 20 de julio de 2019 celebra el amor y la diversidad con diversas exposiciones, charlas y un gran concierto en la localidad costera de Tazacorte el 20 de julio.
3. Summer is perfect… for a stroll through the city
You love the golden sand and a refreshing splash in the ocean, but sometimes a good city stroll is just much better? Then trade the boring European city for a walk through the fascinating streets of Santa Cruz de Tenerife! You’ll find many signs of its history as the hub of Spanish colonizers, lovely cafés and parks and don’t forget to order a “cortao”. And if you want to return to the beach, the iconic beach Playa de las Teresitas is just around the corner on the outskirts of the city.
Sie lieben den goldenen Sand und ein erfrischendes Bad im Meer, aber manchmal ist ein guter Stadtspaziergang einfach viel besser? Dann spazieren Sie doch mal statt durch die langweilige europäische Großstadt durch die faszinierenden Straßen von Santa Cruz de Tenerife! Als früheres Zentrum spanischer Kolonialherren, finden Sie auch heute noch viele Spuren seiner ehemaligen Geschichte, hübsche Cafés und Parks. Vergessen Sie nicht, einen “Cortao” zu bestellen. Und wenn Sie zum Strand zurückkehren möchten, ist der berühmte Strand Playa de las Teresitas gleich um die Ecke.

Entonces, en vez de pasear por la aburrida ciudad europea, descubre las fascinantes calles de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Encontrarás muchos indicios de su historia como centro de encuentro y vida de los colonizadores españoles, así como encantadores cafés y parques. Y no te olvides de pedir un “cortao”. En cuanto eches de menos a la playa, puedes bañarte en la emblemática Playa de las Teresitas que está a la vuelta de la esquina.
4. Summer is perfect… for your favorite workout around the corner
During your summer holidays, you’ll finally have time to perfect your tennis of golf skills. And what’s better than having the tennis court or the golf course just around the corner of your holiday home? Our holiday home Finca Lomo Felipe on La Palma has its very own private tennis court and the villas of the Salobre Golf Resort on Gran Canaria are located directly next to the popular Salobre South golf course and the challenging Salobre North golf course (and there is an excellent running track around the whole Salobre South golf course – perfect for the dedicated runner!).
